Formatting and Sharing Tools

While formatting doesn't affect functionality, it can certainly improve the overall user experience and can be an important way to make forms easier to understand and complete.

So, let's make those forms beautiful and easy to complete!

After completing this Module you will know:

How to Merge Several Text Fields into One Line on a WebForm

1. Hold shift and select up to three single line text fields you'd like to merge together.

2. Right click on any of them and select Merge.

  1. The information received on the back end (Submissions Manager) will still look like three separate fields you will be able to keep the data separate. If instead you would like to have three fields but all appear in the Submissions Manager as one field then you will use the Double Entry or Triple Entry fields which we will go over next.

Formatting Tools

Creates a space between two fields improving the layout.

Splits up the WebForm into separate pages.  After a section break, the enduser will have to select "Next Page" to continue filling out the form.

Creates a text field which is automatically formatted so that numbers entered are displayed as currency.

Uses Google to autocomplete an address as the user is typing.

This is a quick and easy way to merge two fields onto the same line.  This also causes the data to stack in the Submissions Manager.

Similar to Double Entry but instead puts three text fields on the same line. This causes the data to stack in the Submissions Manager.
